Mylen Daieon Williams, a 20-year-old black male, died Wednesday, May 10, after being shot in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Luis Eduardo Cifuentes, a 25-year-old Latino male, died Tuesday, May 9, after being shot in Lawndale, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Angel Zavala, a 19-year-old Latino male, died Tuesday, May 9, after being shot in East Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Alex David Lomeli, a 18-year-old Latino male, died Sunday, May 7, after being shot in Harvard Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Alexander Alvarado, a 37-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, May 6, in the 1700 block of Hauser Boulevard in Mid-City, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 6:50 a.m., police received a call of shots fired in the area and found Alvarado suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a news release from the LAPD.

Alvarado was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police think that prior to the shooting, Alvarado and another person had stopped on a residential street in the area and were looking for car keys, Lt. John Radtke said.

Radtke declined to provide additional information about the shooting.

Michael Ray Pina, a 47-year-old Latino male, died Wednesday, May 3, after being shot in Norwalk, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Demetrious Thomas, a 29-year-old black male, died Wednesday, May 3, after being shot in Gardena, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Valerie Enriquez, a 27-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 2, near Ridgeway Street and Barjud Avenue in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 11 p.m., Pomona police responded to a call about a shooting near Perez Market. Officers found Enriquez and Hugo Reynoso, 37, behind the grocery store, according to a release from police. Both had been shot multiple times.

Enriquez and Reynoso were pronounced dead at the scene at 11:03 p.m., according to coroner’s records. 

Detectives later said the two were ambushed while sitting behind the market. 

Pomona police asked anyone with information about the shooting to call the department at (909) 620-2085. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.

Hollis David Lainer, a 28-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 2, in the 1200 block of 141st Place in Gardena, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

About 7:20 p.m., Gardena police received a call about shots fired near an apartment complex. Once there, officers found three men suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a news release. 

A Pontiac sedan was seen driving west on 141st Place where a group of people was standing on the steps of a condominium complex, detectives said. The driver of the vehicle began shooting toward the group before fleeing west toward Normandie Avenue. 

Three men, including Lainer, suffered several gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital. Lainer later died from his wounds. The other two men are expected to recover, according to the release.

Kevin Henderson a 35-year-old black man, was shot and killed Sunday, April 30, in the 1800 block of East Century Boulevard in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Henderson was riding a skateboard on East Century Boulevard about 5:30 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri.

The vehicle stopped and a person got out and began shooting at Henderson, Kouri said.

Henderson was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. The vehicle, described as a light-colored sedan, fled east on East Century Boulevard, Kouri said.

Police believe the shooter acted alone, but did not yet have a suspect description.

Dontranail Hughes, a 42-year-old black man, was shot and killed Sunday, April 30, in the 9700 block of Stanford Avenue in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Hughes and another man were standing on a street corner just before 7 p.m. when a person walked up and began shooting, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri. Both of the men were struck.

Hughes was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:16 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The other man is expected to survive.

The shooter fled in a vehicle, but detectives are still trying to confirm a vehicle description, Kouri said.

Herbert Torres, a 37-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, April 29, in the 9500 block of South Avalon Boulevard in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Torres was sitting in the stairwell of an apartment complex about 3 a.m. when a person walked up and shot him, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri.

The shooter then walked up to Jose Luis Velasco, a 38-year-old sitting in a silver BMW, and shot him at “close range,” Kouri said.

The shooter then walked back to Torres and tried but failed to fire again, then fled. Both Velasco and Torres were pronounced dead at the scene.

Kouri said police are still trying to determine a suspect description because the shooter’s face was covered during the attacks.

Jose Luis Velasco, a 38-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, April 29, in the 9500 block of South Avalon Boulevard in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Velasco was sitting in a silver BMW parked in a driveway about 3 a.m. when a person walked up and fired at him “at close range,” said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri.

Moments earlier, the shooter had walked up to another man, 37-year-old Herbert Torres, who was sitting on a stairwell in a nearby apartment complex and opened fire.

The shooter walked up to Torres and tried to fire again but failed. The bodies of Velasco and Torres were found about 4 a.m.

Velasco was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m. at the scene, and Torres was pronounced dead at the nearby scene at 4:18 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
