Natanael Aquino-Lopez, a 25-year-old Latino, died Saturday, March 30, after he was stabbed in the 2800 block of West Olympic Boulevard in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.
About 11:10 p.m. on Friday, March 29, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Division responded to a call of a fight outside a restaurant and found Aquino-Lopez suffering from stab wounds, said Los Angeles Police Det. Sean Kinchla.
Aquino-Lopez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:39 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
Investigators determined that several people were involved in a fight outside a restaurant and a person pulled out a knife and stabbed Aquino-Lopez.
Police said four people were involved in the dispute, which was not believed to be gang related.
One of the suspects was identified as Reynaldo Carranza, a 33-year-old Latino, police said.

Jai Malik Carter, a 23-year-old black man, was fatally stabbed Thursday, May 10, at 401 S. Vermont Ave. in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 6 p.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Division responded to a call of a stabbing at a smoke shop. When officers arrived, they found Carter on the sidewalk, according to a news release from the department.
Carter was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:51 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
A second man, later identified as Vardan Tokmajyan, a 24-year-old Armenian, was found nearby with injuries on his hand and foot.
Police don’t know what happened before Carter was stabbed, but it’s believed there was an argument or a “possible misunderstanding,” Det. Tyler Adams said in an email.
Adams said that during an altercation, Tokmajyan held Carter against his will and tried to take property from him.

Irma Cuevas, a 62-year-old Latina, was found dead Sunday, Feb. 19, in the 2600 block of West Olympic Boulevard in Pico-Union, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 10:30 a.m., police received a call about a person who was motionless on the sidewalk, said Los Angeles Police Det. Sean Kinchla.
Officers found Cuevas, who had been stabbed. She was pronounced dead at 10:38 a.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.
Police believe Cuevas, a transient who was known in the area, was killed sometime after 10 p.m.

Luis David Lazcano, a 32-year-old white man, was fatally stabbed Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the 200 block of South Serrano Avenue in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 3 a.m., LAPD Olympic Division officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon and found Lazcano in the street, police said.
Investigators believe Lazcano tried to intervene in an argument between a man and a woman when the man pulled out a knife and attacked, said Officer Norma Eisenman.
Authorities initially said that the two who were arguing were a couple, but police have received conflicting reports about the nature of their relationship.
Lazcano was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m., said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.

Samuel Michel, a 25-year-old white man, died Tuesday, April 10, in the 800 block of Serrano Street in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Police were called to the Villa Sir Francis Drake apartments about 2:40 a.m., where they found Michel with a knife in his back and stab wounds to his head.
Michel, who was neither conscious nor breathing, was inside a fifth-floor apartment.
A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance crew pronounced him dead.
Witnesses reported seeing another man in a white tank top leaving the area on a bicycle.
Since Jan. 1, 2007, there have been 35 homicides in Koreatown, according to the Times' Homicide Report.

Joshua Santos, a 19-year-old Latino, died Saturday, May 28, an hour after he was stabbed in the 100 block of North Mariposa Avenue in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Santos was in an argument involving males and females about 11:20 p.m. May 27, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.
At some point, Santos exchanged punches with someone and was stabbed.
Winter said Santos was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where he died at 12:23 a.m. from a stab wound to the chest.

Bennett Bradley, a 60-year-old black man, was stabbed and died Saturday, Jan. 2, in the 100 block of South New Hampshire Avenue in Koreatown, authorities said.
Bradley's body was found about 5:50 p.m. in his apartment, police said. Detectives believe robbery is a possible motive for the crime but do not have a suspect, according to an LAPD news release.
According to coroner's records, Bradley's cause of death was a deep slash to the neck, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:01 p.m.

Benito Naiera, a 74-year-old Latino man, was stabbed to death Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at his home in the 2900 block of West 8th Street in Los Angeles, authorities said.
Los Angeles police said Naiera and his roommate, Cresencio Gomez, 63, got into a violent argument that morning. Authorities responding to a report of a stabbing about 9:15 a.m. found paramedics outside the home treating Gomez. Inside, they found Naiera in the living room with multiple stab wounds, according to an LAPD news release.
Naiera was taken to a hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. He died eight hours after being admitted, police said.
Gomez was arrested in connection with the slaying and was held in lieu of $1-million bail.

Thomas Christopher, 66, a white man, was stabbed in the chest at 314 South Alexandria Ave. in the Koreatown area at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday, July 29. He was taken to a hospital, where he died at 1:50 a.m. July 29.
The suspect, 22-year-old Victor Esparza, a Latino young man, fled down Alexandria but was caught by Rampart police officers.
Christopher was originally from New York. He was liked strongly by some, disliked strongly by others, said detectives who canvassed the neighborhood.
