Victor Daniel Lopez, a 17-year-old Latino, was stabbed to death Saturday, Sept. 21, near West Pico Boulevard and South Figueroa Street in downtown Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Lopez and another male were waiting at a bus stop about noon when they were approached by four men who are believed to be gang members, said LAPD Det. Brian Putnam.
The six got into a fight and Lopez was stabbed, Putnam said.
Lopez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:39 p.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman with the coroner’s office.
Three people have been charged with murder with gang allegations in connection with the stabbing, including Jorge Ramon-Aguila, 18, Tomas Montezuma, 21, and one male juvenile, according to the L.A. County district attorney’s office.
They are due in court Oct. 4 for a preliminary hearing.
