Crystallyn May Nguyen, an 18-year-old Asian woman, was shot and killed Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the 11700 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Police say Nguyen’s ex-boyfriend confronted her current boyfriend, Datwan Henderson, 22, in an apartment about 12:51 p.m., according to the Inglewood Police Department.
The ex-boyfriend, later identified as Justin Marquis Scott, 19, is accused of brandishing a gun, entering the apartment and shooting Nguyen, Henderson and his grandmother, Dora Lee Dawson, 64.
Nguyen was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:52 p.m., according to coroner’s records. Dawson also died in the shooting. Henderson survived.
Scott has been charged with two counts of special circumstances murder and one count of attempted murder, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Dora Lee Dawson, a 64-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the 11700 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard in Inglewood, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Dawson was shot while attempting to protect her grandson, Datwan Henderson, 22, after he was confronted and shot in an apartment about 12:51 p.m.
The gunman also shot and killed Henderson’s girlfriend, Crystallyn May Nguyen, 18.

Major De’More Woods, a 4-year-old black child, died Thursday, Oct. 3, in the 500 block of North Marlborough Avenue in Inglewood, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Shortly before 7 a.m., Inglewood police were called to the home because Woods was not breathing. The child did not a have a prior medical history, according to coroner’s records.
Woods was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
An autopsy found that the child died of blunt-force trauma.
The child’s 23-year-old mother and a 28-year-old man were taken into custody, according to a news release from the Inglewood Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the department.

Emma Cristina Penate, a 39-year-old Latina, was found dead Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the 4900 block of West 97th Street in Inglewood, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Penate was found unresponsive in a home with blunt-force trauma to her head, according to coroner’s records.
She was pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m.

Pia Porter, a 30-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Saturday, Sept. 21 in the 10600 block of South Crenshaw Boulevard in Inglewood, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Porter and a 24-year-old man were standing near their vehicle when another vehicle drove by and a person inside shot at them, according to an Inglewood Police Department news release.
The shooter fled the scene.
About 2:21 p.m., officers went to the location and found Porter and the man wounded.
Porter was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 p.m., said Jerry McKibben, an investigator with the coroner’s office.
The other person who was wounded, later identified as Trandis Porter, 24, was treated at a hospital and is listed in stable condition, according to the release.

Willie Michael Brown, a 25-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, Sept. 2, in the 9700 block of South 8th Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Brown was walking down the street when he was shot, said coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.
Police responded to a report of gunshots at 10:42 p.m. and found Brown, according to an Inglewood Police Department news release.
Brown was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 p.m., Winter said.
