Miguel Ernesto Ramos, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, May 28, in the 400 block of South Vermont Avenue in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 8:15 p.m., Ramos was standing outside a smoke shop when a man walked outside and shot him, said Los Angeles Police Lt. John Radtke. The gunman then ran through the parking lot and fired into a black sedan, striking another 21-year-old Latino, Radtke said.
The gunman then fled south on Vermont Avenue in a white sedan, Radtke said.
Ramos and the other man were taken to a hospital. Ramos was pronounced dead at 10:35 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The other man is expected to survive his injuries, Radtke said.
