Monica Barbosa, a 54-year-old white woman, was shot and killed Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the 3500 block of Monica Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
Long Beach police received a call that a person had been shot about 10 p.m., and found a wounded Barbosa inside a converted garage where she had apparently been living, according to a department news release. Further investigation revealed that an unidentified 52-year-old man had also been shot and taken to a hospital by a friend.
Barbosa was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:24 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
