Alicia Renae Williams, a 32-year-old black woman, died Monday, April 4, after she was stabbed in the 5200 block of Pendleton Avenue in South Gate, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
South Gate Police officers were called to the residence about 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, regarding a spousal assault. When officers arrived, they discovered Williams and her 6-month-old daughter suffering from multiple stab wounds, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Eddie Hernandez.
Williams was still conscious when officers arrived, Hernandez said. She told the officers that her husband became violent while they were arguing and began stabbing her while she was holding their baby. As the two adults struggled, the husband allegedly stabbed the baby as well, Hernandez said.
