Juan Manuel Zamora Jr., a 29-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, April 23, in the 600 block of Wilmington Boulevard in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 8:30 p.m., Zamora stepped outside of his home and was on the sidewalk when a person in a gray hoodie approached him and shot him multiple times, said Los Angeles Police Det. David Cortez.
Zamora stumbled back to his front porch where he collapsed.
Zamora was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
Detectives are looking for more witnesses, Cortez said.
“Hopefully we’ll get some people to come forward, and get some information,” he said.

Emmanuel Sosa, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, June 23, in the 1000 block of Eubank Avenue in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 11:25 p.m., Sosa was hanging out with a friend in the front yard of a home when a person walked past them, LAPD Det. Julie Scruggs said in an email.
The gunman then turned around near the curb and began to shoot, police said.
Sosa was struck and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:59 p.m., according to coroner's records.
