Adalberto Saucedo III, 15

Adalberto Salcedo III, a 15-year-old  Latino, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 17, in the 23900 block of Avalon Boulevard in Carson, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records. 

Salcedo was walking with a female friend about 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Avalon and East Sepulveda Boulevard when they were approached by a silver or white four-door vehicle, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's department news release. 

Two black males wearing hoodies got out of the car and shot Salcedo multiple times, according to the news release. They then jumped back into their car and drove east on Sepulveda. 

Salcedo was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:54 p.m., according to coroner's records. His companion was not injured.

Investigators said they don't know if the shooting was gang-related, but they do believe Salcedo had been specifically targeted, according to the release.
