A story for every victim

Adan Cabrera, 32

Adan Cabrera, a 32-year-old Latino, died Sunday, July 24, after he was shot in the 9400 block of Normandie Avenue in Westmont, according to authorities.

Cabrera was inside his apartment about 10:40 p.m. on July 23 when he was shot at his front door, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Jauch.

When deputies arrived, Cabrera was in the living room with multiple gunshot wounds, Jauch said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead the following day at 2:55 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Investigators don’t have information about suspects or motive, Jauch said. Cabrera lives in the apartment with roommates, and some were home at the time, he said, “but no information has been provided right now that helps.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
