Ahmon Shrenga Simpson, 39

Ahmon Shrenga Simpson, a 39-year-old black man, died Friday, Nov. 15, about three weeks after he was shot in the 1600 block of East Imperial Highway on the border of Watts and Willowbrook, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Simpson was riding a bike westbound on East Imperial Highway about 2:05 p.m. on Oct. 23 when a grey four-door sedan pulled up and a person inside fired multiple shots, said LAPD Det. Supervisor Sal LaBarbera.

Simpson was shot once in the head and taken to a hospital, LaBarbera said.

He was on life support until Nov. 15 at 12:28 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Detectives believe that the suspects, who fled westbound in the sedan, are several Latino males.
