Alexander Gonzalez, a 35-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, March 24, near West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Raymond Avenue in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 5:30 p.m., Gonzalez was driving a BMW SUV north on South Raymond Avenue and stopped at an intersection, said Los Angeles police Det. Rob Lait.

Another vehicle pulled alongside the SUV  and a person fired into it, Lait said.

Gonzalez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:52 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

The vehicle fled east on West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
