Alfred Lee Johnson, 74

Alfred Lee Johnson, a 74-year-old black man, was found fatally stabbed Sunday, April 10 in the 1100 block of Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 10:30 a.m., an anonymous person called 911 to report a person who was unresponsive, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.

Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division arrived and found Johnson dead with several stab wounds, Officer Ryan Watterson said in an email.

Johnson was pronounced dead inside the apartment at 10:50 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Watterson said that Johnson’s nephew, Michael Haynes, was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Haynes, a 31-year-old black man, is being held on $2-million bail, according to online jail records.

Haynes was charged April 12 with one count of murder and is due back in court May 9 for an arraignment, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
