Andre Lavelle Jones, 39

Andre Lavelle Jones, a 39-year-old black man, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, after being shot years earlier near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Henderson Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

About 8:40 a.m., Long Beach police were called because Jones was unresponsive in his bed. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but Jones was pronounced dead at 9 a.m., according to coroner’s records. 

A coroner’s report said Jones was paraplegic as a result of a 2007 gunshot wound. According to the report, Jones had been injured in a drive-by shooting near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Henderson Avenue.
