Andre Terell Berero, 23

Andre Terell Berero, a 23-year-old black man, died Sunday, Aug. 23, after he was shot in the 100 block of East Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner records. 

Long Beach police received a call of shots fired in the area about 10 p.m. When they arrived, they found Berero lying in the street with gunshot wounds, according to a department news release. 

Paramedics took Berero to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:11 p.m., according to coroner's records. 

Witnesses told investigators that Berero drove up to a liquor store where two groups of men were fighting and had just gotten out of his car when he was struck in the upper torso by gunfire, according to the release. 

The shooting is being investigated as being gang-related, according to the release.
