Angelica Gabriela Rodriguez, a 46-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Monday Dec. 3 near West 88th Street and South Broadway in Broadway-Manchester, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.

Shortly after noon, Rodriguez was a passenger in a vehicle going south on South Broadway when the car started having trouble and the driver pulled over, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri.

Rodriguez and the driver got out of the car and were looking under the hood when another person walking by turned around and began shooting, Kouri said.

The gunman then ran east on West 88th Street. Police believe that the gunman may have been targeting other people in the area and accidentally wounded Rodriguez, Kouri said.
