Anthony Roland Buckner, a 43-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, May 18 after an altercation at an after-hours nightclub in the 3500 block of South Normandie Avenue in Exposition Park, according to a police incident report.

About 3 a.m., Bucknor arrived at the club after visiting other clubs with friends. He was dancing with a woman when a man walked up to him and a dispute ensued, the report says.

The man fired several rounds at Bucknor on the dance floor and left the club. It is unknown how many people witnessed the shooting, the report says.

On June 4, prosecutors charged Stephen Ricardo Banks, a 42-year-old black man, with one count of murder and one count of an assault with a semiautomatic weapon, according to a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles County district attorney.
