Jermaine Nahshon Collins, 32

Jermaine Collins, a 32-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, May 30, in the 17000 block of Nauset Court in Carson, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

[For the record: An earlier version of this post, based on preliminary information from the coroner's office, identified the victim as a black male in his 30s. Additionally, there was no incident address or cause of death.]

Collins was in a car at 10:08 p.m. when another vehicle pulled up alongside him and the occupants fired into his car, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.

Authorities were called and Collins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coroner's records show that he suffered several gunshot wounds.
