Brian Pierre Johnson, 28

Brian Johnson, a 28-year-old black man, was fatally shot Saturday, April 16, near 96th Street and Airport Street in Westchester, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police were called regarding a shooting about 12:30 p.m., according to a Los Angeles Police Department news release. When officers arrived, they found Johnson in a car suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers also discovered another injured man, as well as a woman in the car, but she was unharmed, police said.

The two men were taken to a hospital for their injuries where Johnson was later pronounced dead. The second male victim survived a gunshot wound to the foot, authorities said.

It is unknown if the shooting was gang-related.
