Bruce Cordell Gray, 45

Bruce Cordell Gray, a 45-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, Nov. 14, in the 7900 block of South San Pedro Street in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before noon, Gray was working at his auto body shop, called South Central Auto Repair, when a man walked up and shot him multiple times, said Los Angeles Police Det. Chris Barling.

Barling said it appears that Gray and the gunman “exchanged words” before the shooting.

Gray was pronounced dead at 12:01 p.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.

The gunman was described only as a black man wearing a hoodie, approximately 20 to 30 years old.
