Bruno Rodriguez, 73

Bruno Rodriguez, a 73-year-old Latino, was found stabbed to death Tuesday, Jan. 11, in the 1800 block of Grier Street in Pomona, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Rodriguez was found in his home by Pomona police after they were contacted by Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies who had detained a 14-year-old teenager in Diamond Bar about 12:30 p.m., according to a Pomona Police Department news release.

The teenager was armed with a knife and told deputies that he had just harmed his grandfather.

When authorities arrived at the residence, they found Rodriguez dead inside. According to coroner's records, Rodriguez had a stab wound to his right thigh.

After the discovery, Rodriguez's grandson was booked on suspicion of murder at the Pomona City Jail and was later taken to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall.

The knife that was recovered from the teenager is believed to be the murder weapon, police said.

Anyone with additional information about the stabbing is asked to contact Pomona Police Homicide Det. Uribe or Det. Turpin at (909) 620-8025 or (909) 620-2095.
