Bryan Rene Perry, 45

Bryan Rene Perry, a 45-year-old black man, was a shot and killed Friday, July 17, at the corner of South Normandie Avenue and West 97th Street in Westmont, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 9600 block of Normandie about 1:50 p.m. regarding a shots fired-assault with a deadly weapon call, according to a department news release. 

When deputies arrived, they found Perry lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound in his upper body.

Perry was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:32 p.m. by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, according to coroner’s records. 

Investigators believe the shooting is gang-related, but they have no suspect information, according to the news release.
