Channon Marshawn Hardiman, 28

Channon Marshawn Hardiman, a 28-year-old black man, died Monday, May 29, after he was shot near South Western Avenue and West 60th Place in Chesterfield Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 11:56 p.m. May 28, Hardiman was standing on the south sidewalk on West 60th Place, just west of South Western Avenue, when a person walked up to him and shot him, Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido said.  

Hardiman was taken to a hospital by his girlfriend, according to police and the coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. the next day, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.
