Christian Henriquez, 16

Christian Henriquez, a 16-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, Jan. 30, near 11210 South Figueroa Street in Vermont Vista, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Christian was standing in the area with an 18-year-old man when a person, whom witnesses described as Latino, walked up and began talking to the two, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.

The person, who is described as being between 17 and 22, opened fire. Christian was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:46 p.m. The 18-year-old is expected to survive.
