Christina Barbara Miner, 26

Christina Miner, a 26-year-old black woman, was found dead Thursday, Sept. 29, in the 7500 block of South San Pedro Street in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Miner was staying at a motel Sept. 28 when she was stabbed about 6:45 p.m., according to an LAPD news release. The next day, housekeeping staff discovered her body and called paramedics, who pronounced Miner dead at the scene.

Coroner’s records show Miner suffered at least three stab wounds to her body.

During the investigation, detectives identified the assailant as Tabitha Valdes, a 32-year-old Latina. The motive behind the killing was a personal dispute, officials said.

Valdes is being held in lieu of $1-million bail at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.
