Darnell Darron Johnson, 22

Darnell Darron Johnson, a 22-year-old black man, died Wednesday, June 1, after he was shot in the 3500 block of Sanborn Avenue in Lynwood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records. 

L.A. County sheriff's deputies were called to the residential area about 1:27 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, regarding a gunshot victim, said Lt. Steve Jauch. 

When they arrived, they found Johnson lying on the grass with multiple gunshot wounds, Jauch said. 

Johnson was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:42 a.m. the following day, according to coroner's records. 

Witnesses said they saw a man on a motorcycle with a handgun leaving the area immediately after the shooting, Jauch said. The shooter was alone on the motorcycle, Jauch said, but the witnesses could not provide a description. 

Johnson lived about 10 miles from the shooting site, Jauch said.
