David Cortez, 25

David Cortez, a 25-year-old Latino,  was shot and killed Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the 5600 block of Quinn Street in Bell Gardens, according to Los Angeles county coroner's records.

Cortez was riding his bicycle in the alley behind the apartment complex where he lived about 9:25 p.m. when he was confronted by two men, said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Bill Cotter.

Bell Gardens police found Cortez lying in the alley near his bicycle, Cotter said.

Cortez was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m., according to coroner's records.
