Emily Grigsby, 19
Emily Grigsby, a 19-year-old black woman, was shot while attending a party at 5854 Pickford St. in Mid-City about 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.
According to police, Grigsby and a 17-year-old black youth were standing outside when a black man walked up and shot them both. Grigsby was taken to a hospital, where she died at 11:54 p.m. The 17-year-old youth was listed in stable condition, according to Officer Mike Lopez of LAPD's media relations office.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear, Lopez added.
