Emma DeJesus Serin-Paul, 45

Emma DeJesus Serin-Paul, a 45-year-old Latina, was found fatally stabbed Sunday, Feb. 8, in the 1700 South Hobart Boulevard in Harvard Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 6 p.m., police responded to a call of a possible homicide and found Serin-Paul’s body in the doorway of an apartment, said Lt. John Radtke with the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police followed a trail of blood and found the woman’s husband in a bedroom with stab wounds. Authorities said that the couple was involved in a dispute.

Serin-Paul was pronounced dead at 6:12 p.m. at the scene, said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office. The man was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

“We’ll look carefully at the evidence at the scene,” Radtke said. “We’re trying to determine what happened inside between the two of them.”

Police are expected to interview the man. No charges have been filed.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Bureau Homicide at (213) 382-9470. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
