Esteban Reyes-Muniz, an 18-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Friday, Nov. 2, in the 3700 block of Maine Avenue in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Reyes-Muniz was a passenger in a car about 1:06 a.m. when another vehicle pulled up. Someone inside produced a rifle and began shooting at the car, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.
The driver and Reyes-Muniz were hit, Winter said. Both were taken to a hospital, and Reyes-Muniz later died. The other victim is expected to survive his injuries.
Winter said the incident may have been a retaliation shooting.
