Franceen Michelle Camarillo, 25

Franceen Michelle Camarillo, a 25-year-old Latina, was fatally stabbed Friday, Oct. 17, in the 1200 block of West 36th Place in Exposition Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Camarillo and a man were in her vehicle driving westbound on West 36th Place when the two pulled to the curb, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.

Camarillo was stabbed, then pushed out the driver’s side door, Garrido said.

Camarillo was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 8:55 p.m., said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner's office.

Police arrested Lester Isac Nolasco, a 23-year-old Latino, on suspicion of murder that night. Nolasco was charged with one count each of murder, arson, carjacking and battery, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
