Genaro Montes-Ruacho, 37

Genaro Montes-Ruacho, a 37-year-old Latino, was found dead Monday, February 24, in an alley near Vena Avenue and Terra Bella Street in Arleta, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Firefighters responded to a fire about 10:20 p.m. in an alley called Garber Street. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters found Montes-Ruacho’s body in the trunk of an Audi A4.

The fire fully engulfed the front of the car, but did not make it to the trunk, said Los Angeles Police Lt. Paul Vernon in a statement.

Montes-Ruacho was pronounced dead at 10:43 p.m., according to coroner’s records. The cause of death was determined to be probable asphyxia, according to coroner’s records.
