George Shatford, 62

George Shatford, a 62-year-old white man, was strangled Monday, May 7, in the 1400 block of North Garfield in Pasadena, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

At around 5 p.m., police looking into a call of a suspicious death went to a Pasadena residential care facility.

Once on the scene, police were approached by resident Paul Lopez, 38, who allegedly said he had killed a fellow resident, George Shatford.

Lopez did not indicate his motive, according to Pasadena police Lt. Phlunte Riddle.

Lopez was arrested and was being held at the Inmate Reception center in downtown in lieu of $1-million bail.
