George Washington Williams Jr., 25

George Williams Jr., a 25-year-old black man, was fatally shot Saturday, June 5, in the 200 block of East 30th Street in Historic South-Central, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police responded to a call reporting gunfire early Saturday and found Williams, who lived nearby, on the sidewalk with several gunshot wounds, said LAPD Newton Det. Leonardo McKenzie.

The Los Angeles  Fire Department was called, and Williams was taken to California Hospital Medical Center, where he died at 1:09 a.m., according to coroner's records.

Investigators have no motive for the shooting or description of the assailant.
