Heliodoro Cantoral, 44

Heliodoro Cantoral, a 44-year-old Latino, was hit over the head with a beer bottle and died July 13 in the 2600 block of East Lacy Street in Lincoln Heights, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Cantoral was in a park drinking with a group of homeless people when he got into a fight, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. One of the people present struck Cantoral with a beer bottle, police said. Cantoral was taken to a hospital for treatment.

At the hospital, Cantoral went into cardiac arrest. Doctors performed open heart surgery, but he died later that day, according to the LAPD. Police have no description of the suspect.
