A story for every victim

Jack Robert Miller, 74

Jack Robert Miller, a 74-year-old white man, was killed Monday, June 15, in the 14800 block of Narcissus Crest Avenue in Santa Clarita, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Deputies were called to Miller’s residence at 6:50 p.m. regarding a family disturbance, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Victor Lewandowski.

Miller was unresponsive when deputies arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:44 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Investigators believe Miller and his son had been fighting before deputies arrived, Lewandowski said. The coroner’s autopsy results are pending, but the elder Miller “had a blunt force trauma injury that was consistent with being assaulted.” Lewandowski said.

The man's son, Sean Matthias Miller, a 47-year-old white man, was arrested and was charged with murder on Thursday, June 18.

Sean Miller pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to return to Department S of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, San Fernando Branch, on July 7. Bail was set at $1 million.
