Jamie Maurice Brown, 34

Jamie Maurice Brown, a 34-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, Dec. 4, in the 2100 block of East 99th Place in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m., Brown was walking in the area when a vehicle drove by and a person inside opened fire, said Los Angeles Police Det. Nathan Kouri.

A resident in the area heard the gunfire and found Brown on the sidewalk. Authorities responded and pronounced Brown dead at the scene at 2:06 a.m., according to coroner's records.

Police are working on a vehicle description.
