Jarome Deleon Collins, 25

Jarome Collins, a 25-year-old black man, was fatally shot Monday, Feb. 6, in the 8700 block of South Broadway in Broadway-Manchester, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The shooting occurred about 1 a.m. at West 87th Place and Broadway, when a man walked up to Collins and fired multiple rounds, wounding him in the body, said Officer Wendy Reyes of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Collins was pronounced dead at a hospital. Coroner’s records show he suffered gunshot wounds to the face and chest.

The incident reportedly occurred near a meeting of the Rising Sons Motorcycle Club.

According to a Web notice, the club meets every Sunday at 8 p.m. at 8700 S. Broadway. Police said they did not have information on whether the shooting was related to the club.

Authorities believe the shooting was gang-related.
