A story for every victim

Jason George Teter, 21

Jason George Teter, a 21-year-old Latino, was shot and killed on Saturday, Nov. 5, in the 14100 block of Clark Street in Baldwin Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Teter and a friend were walking east on Clark Street, in the friend’s neighborhood, when a white SUV pulled up behind them about 7:05 p.m., said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Jauch.

Someone in the SUV pulled out a handgun and began firing at the two young men, Jauch said.

“We don’t know if they shot from in or out of the car,” Jauch said. “We just know they drove away heading east on Clark Street.”

Teter was struck in the torso and pronounced dead at the scene at 7:26 p.m., according to coroner’s records. His friend ran and was uninjured, Jauch said.

Investigators don’t have a motive for the shooting or a description of the shooter, Jauch said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
