Jesse Salazar, 18

Jesse Salazar, an 18-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, Aug. 8, near Cantara Street and Chastain Avenue in Reseda, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 2 a.m., Salazar was standing outside Cantara Street Elementary School when someone walked toward him and fired multiple rounds, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.

Salazar was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:05 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

The shooter’s face was covered, but investigators believe the attacker is a man, said LAPD Det. Steve Castro.
