Gabriel Garcia Soto, 56

Gabriel Garcia Soto, a 56-year-old Latino, was found dead Thursday, Oct. 18, near California 38 in the Angeles National Forest, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Soto was discovered dead in a ditch off California 38 in the national forest, the coroner’s office said.

The victim was wearing latex gloves. Coroner's records show he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Sheriff's homicide Det. Phil Guzman, who is handling the case, said Soto "was actually a resident of Tijuana here on a work visa." Investigators believe he was living and working near San Diego.

No other details about the case were available.
