Jorge Lorenzo, 19

Jorge Lorenzo, a 19-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, Nov. 7, in the 400 block of Westlake Avenue in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Lorenzo was driving a Mercury van about 1:50 a.m. when he and a pedestrian allegedly exchanged gunshots, according to Los Angeles police.

Wounded by the gunfire, Lorenzo drove away and collided with another vehicle nearby. He continued on for a bit and then abandoned the van on Park Avenue. He was found by two people who took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Officials said the shooting, believed to be gang-related, remains under investigation. Authorities did not release the name of the injured pedestrian who sustained a minor wound in the leg and was treated at a hospital.
