Juan Carlos Hernandez, 24

Juan Carlos Hernandez, a 24-year-old Latino, was shot and killed on Friday, Aug. 21, in the 14600 block of Cabrito Road in Panorama City, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

The shooting occurred in an industrial area where many homeless people live, according to a Los Angeles Police Department news release. Hernandez reportedly got into a brief argument with an unidentified man about 5 a.m., just before he was shot, according to the release. 

Investigators don’t know what prompted the argument. 

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:12 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
