Juan Garcia, 30

Juan Carlos Garcia, 30, a Latino man, was shot while sitting in a car with his wife and children at 1448 E. 50th St. near Compton Avenue in South-Central Los Angeles at about 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.

LAPD Newton homicide detectives said two Latino men walked up to the car and fired into it. Garcia was transported to County-USC hospital, where he died of multiple gunshot wounds at 10:22 p.m. His wife was hit in the leg but survived. Their three children, ages 10, 5 and 2, were not struck by gunfire.

According to police and a friend, Garcia's brother was also murdered seven years ago.
