Lamont Lavell Crayon (2009-12-29)

Lamont Crayon, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 42nd Street and McKinley Avenue in South-Central, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.

Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Crayon was riding his bike when a car pulled up beside him and someone started firing. He was shot about 10:35 a.m. and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:14 a.m., Winter said.

Winter said that at the time of Crayon's death there were no suspects in custody and authorities had not recovered any weapons believed to have been used in the shooting.
