A story for every victim

Blanca Celina Gonzalez Ceja, 35

Blanca Celina Gonzalez Ceja, a 35-year-old Latina woman, was shot and killed Sunday, Nov. 7, in the 14300 block of Lakewood Boulevard in Downey, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

[Note: An earlier version of this post, based on initial information from authorities, described the homicide victim as an "Unidentified Latina." The person's name, cause of death and location of assault had been withheld until relatives could be notified.]

Police responded to a report of someone possibly drunk or injured in the parking lot behind El Pollo Loco about 11:45 p.m., a Los Angeles County coroner's spokesperson said.

When officers arrived, they discovered Ceja dead inside a red pickup truck. A man, later identified by the coroner's office as Daniel Dubon, 38, was found dead outside the truck.

Both had suffered gunshot wounds and there was a handgun on the ground next to Dubon.

There were no witnesses to the shooting, police said, although it is believed the incident was a murder-suicide.
