Leonard Pierre Jones, 51

Leonard Pierre Jones, a 51-year-old black man, died of a gunshot wound on Wednesday, June 5, in the 500 block of West 81st Street in Vermont Knolls, according to L.A. County coroner's records.

Jones was standing on the front porch of a home with other men when a car drove by and shots were fired from the car, wounding Jones, said LAPD Det. Sal LaBarbera.

Jones was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:47 p.m., coroner’s records show.

Detectives are searching for witnesses.
