Lionell Lavant Carr, 19
Lionell Carr, a 19-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, June 29, in the 6900 block of South Denver Avenue in Harbor Gateway, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Carr was walking down the street about 11:09 a.m. when a car drove up and the occupant began shooting.
Carr was hit by the gunfire and attempted to run from the area, Winter said. He collapsed a short distance away.
Authorities were called, and Carr was taken to a hospital where he died at 11:45 a.m. Coroner's records show he died from several gunshot wounds.
