Louie Rodriguez, 54

Louie Rodriguez, a 54-year-old Latino, died Monday, Oct. 6, after he was assaulted weeks earlier in the 6700 block of Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Rodriguez was attacked about 12:40 a.m. on Sept. 21 after attending the annual Hollywood Music Festival, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Rodriguez was on a motorized scooter when he was punched by a man, causing him to fall backward and hit his head, police said. The assailant left the scene on foot.

Rodriguez was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m., according to coroner's records.

The motive for the attack is unknown. Authorities are looking for a Latino believed to be about 23 years old, 6 feet tall with a lean build and ear expanders in both ears.
