A story for every victim

Luis David Lazcano, 32

Luis David Lazcano, a 32-year-old white man, was fatally stabbed Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the 200 block of South Serrano Avenue in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 3 a.m., LAPD Olympic Division officers responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon and found Lazcano in the street, police said.

Investigators believe Lazcano tried to intervene in an argument between a man and a woman when the man pulled out a knife and attacked, said Officer Norma Eisenman.

Authorities initially said that the two who were arguing were a couple, but police have received conflicting reports about the nature of their relationship.

Lazcano was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m., said Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations for the coroner’s office.

Later that day, police arrested Miguel Gonzalo Jimenez Jr., a 24-year-old Latino, on suspicion of murder. He was arrested in North Hollywood and is being held on $1 million bail, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Bureau Homicide at (213) 382-9470. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
